The Review
Dear Readers,
Dear Readers,
In today's blog I am going to share the story of a client
who wrote to me as a candidate who was seeking employment. I was impressed by
his resume and determination, so decided to publish.
I believe the industry needs to be more regulated. Amateurish, untrained agencies are sullying the industry.

The so called large employment agents, the likes of
Hay’s, Hudson, Michael Page, Robert Walters, K2 and many others
Two Head Hunter companies

Simply Hire Alert
Most FMCG Companies
Service from employment agents:
WHAT SERVICE?!! Lack of is a much better description.
99% of the time one gets a “WE REGRET” letter within a
few minutes of Job application lodgement. No reason, but if asked to elaborate
on one’s application, all you get is “A more suited candidate was found” Yeah
Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or even worse NO
RESPONSE AT ALL
On the odd occasion when they give one the privilege to
get a one on one interview with them, they will sit one down with a totally
unprofessional young individual that will ask stupid questions such as “Why did
you apply for the position”?. Hallo! I’m looking for employment, or in my wife’s case (a Magistrate for 21
years looking to get back into the legal game in Australia, Yes she did all
that was required to qualify, studied and now holds 3 law degrees and is
admitted to practise in Australia)
The question was asked “What does a magistrate do?” get
real people.
You are not dealing with idiots.
Personally, I feel that the employment agents are not
that at all, but rather 90% are just bums on seats waiting for their own
opportunity, they might even be using their position to gain their own sought
after position or use this for a mate………………………………..
Yet companies pay employment agents the equivalent of 2
months to six months’ candidates salaries, I have to ask WHY?
It is about time these people, young and old, realise
they are working with people’s careers, lives and the lives of the candidates’ families.
Funny though, one then goes out and finds work on one’s
own, but yet the employment agents will make contact and want my business,
think about that one for a moment (will this happen after the way one is
treated)??????
Jason the thing is when I immigrated to Australia around
11 years ago, I had to go through all the governments do’s and don’ts, from
health tests to studies and experience qualifications and assessment’s. Then
seeking work in Australia one has to deal with employment agents that provide
no service at all or do not care at all.
This makes me ropable to no end and I better stop here as
I am about to say things that should not be said.
I hope this will be of some help to your blog and that
the 90% of employment agents wake up and smell the roses, guys someone will
come along and make it worth the while for candidates, no matter if you are a
boutique or large employment agency.
Business stays business and it all starts with
SERVICE………………..and if any one of you want to contact me please feel free to do
so, I will gladly have a chat but be warned you will hear the TRUTH.
Kind regards
